Techcrunch: Myspace and Facebook Games are Scamville
Techcrunch has published a scathing commentary on Facebook and Myspace gaming. They point out that buying games on these two portals is high risk and a way to empty your wallet fast! Specifically, the article points out how payment options that allow customers to complete offers instead of paying upfront via Offerpal, SuperRewards and others actually are outright scams that cost the user more, in fact much more in the end.
Techcrunch points out two examples of such scam offers: one from Tatto Media which signs you up for a $9.99 monthly useless mobile phone service which will bill you $9.99 “forever”. The second example of such a scam pointed out by the article is from Video Professor which will bill you $189.95 for a set of CDs you never willing ordered or wanted.
At Game Giants we made a pledge early on to our customers, which we recently renewed. We decided to run an ethical company with no scams or spam. This includes the pay by offer scams as found on Facebook and Myspace.
Both our free sites such as dressuprose.com and the Game Giants Arcade and our download and play sites such as Game Giants World will be operated with the most ethical standards. We advise all our followers and our customers to avoid “pay for offer” options when paying for games on other sites. We also recommend avoiding Facebook and Myspace altogether as gaming platforms as they ultimately are the ones benefiting from the revenue generated by these scams.
